My garage door spring just snapped. Can I still open the door? +
No. A typical residential door weighs 200 to 400 pounds and the spring is what holds that weight. With the spring broken, the door is dead weight, and trying to lift it manually or with the opener can drop the door, damage the motor, or hurt you. Leave it where it is and call us at 416-779-8772. We carry replacement springs on every truck and most spring jobs across Vaughan and the GTA are finished the same day.
How long does a typical garage door repair take? +
Most repairs across Vaughan and the GTA finish in one to two hours. Spring replacements run about an hour. Cable jobs around 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Opener motor work depends on what is happening with the unit but most of it wraps the same day. We carry common parts on the truck so we are not running around looking for a part on your time.
What does your $29 service call cover, and when is it waived? +
The $29 covers the technician coming out to your home anywhere in Vaughan or the GTA, inspecting the door, and writing you a clear quote on the spot. If you decide to go ahead with the repair, the $29 is waived from your total and you only pay for the work done. If you do not want to proceed, you owe the $29 and nothing else. No upsells, no surprise charges.
I only have one broken spring. Should I really replace both? +
Yes, and it is the question we get asked the most. Garage door springs are installed in pairs and wear at the same rate. When one snaps, the other one usually goes within a few weeks or months. Replacing both at the same visit costs less than two separate service calls and keeps the door balanced. Single-spring doors are a different story, but for the standard two-spring setup found on most GTA homes, replacing both is the better call.
My door will not close, what should I check before calling? +
Nine times out of ten it is the safety sensors near the floor. Look for two small boxes facing each other a few inches up from the ground. If one is blinking, they are out of alignment. A bag, a bike, or even a spider web on the lens can also trigger it. Wipe the lenses, clear anything on the floor between them, and try again. If that does not work, call us at 416-779-8772 and we will diagnose it.
What is your warranty on parts and labour? +
We offer a 5-year warranty on parts and labour for every repair and installation across Vaughan and the GTA. If something we fixed fails inside that window, we come back at no charge. We offer this warranty because we stand behind the work we do.
